01What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a site. They let a site remember information about your visit — a session, a preference, or a first-touch source — so that subsequent visits work correctly and can be measured in aggregate.
02Types Used
- Essential — required for the site and applicant dashboard to function: your authenticated session, CSRF protection, and a small consent flag that remembers you've dismissed the cookie banner. These cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality.
- Analytics — aggregate, first-party product analytics that help us understand how the Cohort is discovered and which pages get used. No identifying profile is built about you personally.
- Marketing — not currently active. If we introduce marketing cookies (for example, ad-platform attribution pixels), this section will be updated and consent will be requested first.
03How to Manage
Most browsers let you view, block, or delete cookies through their settings. You can also clear the consent flag by deleting site data for blackswancohort.com in your browser; the banner will reappear on your next visit. Blocking essential cookies will break authentication and the applicant dashboard.
